Middle class income range

Investigations have revealed that there is no explicit range of salary which would be able to define middle class income range. But an endeavor has been made by various agencies of the United States along with other economists to find out the middle class income range. So the threshold of poverty has continued to remain as the same even in the year 2009. It has been found out by studies that in a family consisting of four members the threshold of poverty would be $21,203. For those families which comprise of three family members the threshold of poverty would be $16,530. And in those families that include as many as two family members the threshold of poverty would be $13,540. There are also some families where the individuals are not related to each other and their threshold of poverty has been found out to be $10,590.

The household incomes have been broken down into five divisions or into quintiles by the Census Bureau of the Unites States. It revealed that the middle class income range in the year 2007 ranges between $36,000 to that of $57,660 according to the quintile measurement. But opinions of politicians and economists have been in sync with each other to suggest that this middle class income range is too contracted in nature. Thus this middle class income range would not be able to include those middle class of the United States which are of original nature. A different type of middle class income range would include middle class in three quintiles. So the range would differ from the five quintile range and would range between $19,178 to that of $91,705.

The census of the year 2008 in the United States suggested that the median income is $50,233. The middle class income range has been found out to be falling in a range that varies between 75 to that of 150 percent of the median income of a country. When calculated the middle class income range in the contemporary world situation has been found out to be ranging between $37,675 to that of $75,350.

Suggestions made by a famous economist have pointed out that the middle class income range would be included in the range of one-half of the median income to that of twice of the median income. Thus this would amount to middle class income range that would fall in between $25,117 to $100,466. Another economist have opined that the middle class income range is such that the middle class would be able to manage to pay for some basics things that would be considered as the important things in the lives of individuals. These important things would include a shelter for living, a car and sufficient amount of money which would help the individuals to pay those bills that are essential for them to pay for the day to day living conditions.
