Immigration Laws

Immigration laws are very important with the fact that every government, if it has to permit foreign residents to stay within a country, the rules of immigration laws have to be applied. Immigration law, particularly deals with nationality, legal status, education and work experience of people. Citizenship can be attained only on certain criteria and immigration laws are varying from country to country and these are also subject to lot of change from time to time.
There are certain regulations in immigration laws that encourage new immigrants based on which immigrations laws are implemented. International law regulates the working of immigration laws and United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights provides that all countries have to give an entry to own citizens. There are some countries which restrict and regulate laws of entry and exit and also detail about internal rights such as about duration of stay and a right to participate in government. Immigration laws in United States have experienced an uneven progress that began with the first act of Naturlization Act of 1790. The immigration Act of 1924 gives a quota on how many immigrants can be permitted on nationality basis. There are also other acts such as Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 and Immigration and Naturlization Service.
The five important departments of federal government are Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, the Department of State, Department of Labor and Department of Health and Human Services. Of the five departments, Department of Homeland Security, which is a replace for Immigration and Naturalisation Service states that aliens have to be benefited with immigration laws. This is again subdivided into US Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. Diversity Visa Lottery is conducted by Federal government and this grants permission to the citizens of other countries for the legal entry into the United States.
United States permits more than one million aliens to become Legal Permanent Residents each year which is more than any other country in the world. Particularly after 9/11, immigration laws have become a very serious concerning issues in USA and more and more care and attention is being given to those who are seeking to find immigration in U.S. Apart from this, with the growth of employment opportunities, there is also rapid growth in working as more and more number of people find jobs in US companies.
Immigration laws are always in highest order among all laws, for the safety security of US citizens and US government. If any person is seeking to become an immigrant, he must seek the advice of an attorney or a immigrant consultant to get proper guidance and advice to become immigrant. There are certain rules and regulations which have to be complied with in order to become an immigrant of a foreign nation.
