There are basically three major legal systems in the world. The first is civil law, the second is common law and the third is religious law. Under the pluralistic systems, there is further division which is stated as civil law and common law, civil law and religious law and common law and religious law.

The legal systems are aimed to protect people and society. Perfect legal systems help to develop a better society in the world. People of various religions, various languages and various cultures have to be abide by their respective legal systems practiced in their states and respective nations. Without the practice of legal systems there would be lot of confusion and chaos within the community and is a great threat to the perfect and healthy society. Legal systems protect and safeguard the interests of public. For example, religious law says that humanity should be respected and this must be practiced. Violation of religious law also invite penalties similar to that of civil laws and common laws. In fact the world is very much safe only by the prevailing legal systems.

The work of enactment of a legal system is not easy and it requires lot of analysis and safety measures before it is introduced as a statute into the legal system. Beginning from ancient Greek philosophers, who were wise and knowledgeable, legal systems have been working since those ancient times and there were many approvals to the working of legal system as the results were very good. If we can analyse to day’s facts, that if a car is stolen, we report in a nearby police quarters and when your car is restored, the one who has stolen your car will be punished under the legal system. Such as these legal systems are many that common people benefit from such code of laws. It is also a rule that citizens have to abide by the terms of society, such as preventing from making loud noise, public nuisance and violation of any traffic rule or non-payment of any bill.

The legal systems include all kinds of law that pertain to both individuals and businesses and these are applicable wherever possible and required. It is also aimed that citizens have to be law abiding and those who violate or non-comply with the legal systems, would invite penalties. In a way, this is very good for the society that traffic rules maintenance, correct parking of the car, cordial relations with neighbors and maintenance of order and discipline in public areas and public transportation and such as these are many where legal systems are applicable. When there is a legal system, people are very afraid to commit mistakes and also fear that there is a punishment for a mistake.

For the serious consequences of crime and murder the law has greater measure of punishment which is introduced into the legal system to motivate the individuals and this is a last resort. Legal system highest punishment is imprisonment and sentence to death so far that is under practice.
