Sociology of law

Sociology of law is a very old subject but its practice has been shifting to many paradigms from end to the other. Once there was only legal aspect in the application but now after in the post modern era, there are several changes in the methods of sociology and the method of application. Many people are of the opinion that many domestic problems can be solved by the  application of sociology of law. This is true, apart from domestic and family problems, there are societal and community problems and all of  these are presently dealt under the law of sociology. But the origin of sociology of law began in Russia in 1870 and thereafter many developments in sociology took place in the form of writings by Max Weber and these writings have thoroughly helped to the development in sociology. For a common man to understand about sociology it is a sort of order and discipline in society.


The norms of society explain about the harmonious relationships that enable healthy society and community. These being very important for the well being of the society, laws protect when there are disturbances in the society. Such as communal violence or domestic violence or any  such other social anti-elements which try to spoil the reputation of the society or disturb the people in any manner.  Much can be contributed to the sociology of law, to perform best and to give maximum potential and opportunity for a healthy society. Sociology of law is all about public society, industrial society and any society that promotes to the well being and health of society. Law and society go together in sociology of law. On one side social aspects are discussed and debated and on the other side, laws are applied to protect the society from any communal violence or disturbance. In many countries there is a good practice of sociology of law. This enables  peace and harmony in the society giving people safety and security apart from keeping their privacy.  Any communal violence is immediately questioned and it comes to the notice of investigating authorities and torts are not permitted in society.


Keeping all these benefits in view, sociology of law is drafted only to protect the public from any deviations of public health, safety and security of their life. Courts and government completely support societal laws and public are given lot of awareness about societal laws and how these should be safeguarded. The works and functioning of sociology of law works towards the betterment of building a healthy society and to ensure safety to public. For the present and for the future, sociology will continue to help and assist public in leading a safe life and in improving living conditions.


The importance and significance of sociology can never be underestimated or underpinned as societies are built only the law of sociology and healthy societies and communities always thrive on strong and fundamental principles of societal laws which are very important  to lead an ethical and moral society. It is true that there are many other doors of immoral works, but by keeping the societal laws in tact, you can shut down the doors of illegal frameworks.
