Bad Credit Mortgage
October 18, 2009
Though we are all different in the kinds of goals and things we want in life, there are always some things that we all share, some dreams are repetitive in many cases and one such, is that of owning a home. But somewhere down the financial line, you may have gotten yourself into bad credit and thus lost some points as far as your financial credibility is concerned. Thus when it comes to getting a bad credit mortgage loan, it’s hard to get approved. You application may be turned aside because of obvious reasons but the key is not giving up. Now with the many mortgage loaning institutions, you should have a high probability of getting that mortgage loan you are so desperately looking for.
Your bad credit will not paint a pretty picture no matter where you go seeking bad credit mortgage, but the good news is that there is something you can do about it. The first one is saving. Despite the fact that you are looking for a mortgage, you do need to save up for a couple of months. This is because should an institution consider you, you might be required to pay a down payment which in most cases is usually about 5-10% the total value of the mortgage you seek. That will help in restoring some faith in the lender that you can actually repay the loan in the amount of time that it is designated. In the natural it is not easy to start a saving habit especially when your income balances out with your expenses, leaving little for you to hold on to. But its just one of those sacrifices that you have to make when you are looking for bad credit mortgage.
The second thing you need to consider is having an admirable debt to income ration. If you are already in debt and you go out looking for a mortgage, chances are all your applications will be rejected. It would be wise if you first considered clearing all your debt, or being financially being able to clear these debts if given a stated amount of time. In other words, the amount of money that you earn at the end of the month should be sufficient in paying off a little percentage of all the debts you owe. You cannot be deeply immersed in debt and expect a bad credit mortgage because the lenders are not too enthusiastic with sharing their money with you when they know the investment is one doomed to fail. Do a little financial check and have a comprehensive plan to repay most of your debts so you can commit part of your returns to repaying the bad credit mortgage that you are likely to get.
If none of these methods sound like alternatives for you, you can apply for a Federal Housing Administration loan as it can improve your chances of getting the mortgage. But even with these, you should still have some money saved up to pay the down payment required.
