The 2010 stimulus check is set to help over 90% of Americans, but how will this affect you? The changes operated after the implementation of the stimulus have shown themselves clearly in 2009 by way of the stimulus check a high percentage of citizens have received, but its continuation in 2010 will be a bit different. The way in which the stimulus will work consists in a decrease in federal taxes, which will manifest itself through increases in average Americans’ paychecks.
But how do you know you qualify for this generalized federal tax deduction that is part of the government’s stimulus package and how should you go about receiving what the government is offering you, like a 2010 stimulus check ? First of all, in order to qualify, you must be paying social security; this means you have to be employed (or self-employed), i.e. you must be working and paying taxes. You must also make sure that your income does not exceeded the amount of $95,000 per year, or, if you are married and wish to submit a joint stimulus consideration request, then the joint income of the two applicants mustn’t exceed $190,000 per year. You must also keep in mind that certain restrictions to the federal tax cut the stimulus will grant you apply if your annual intake exceeds $75,000 or if you and your spouse’s joint annual income exceeds $150,000.
The federal tax deduction comprised in the stimulus will put in (or rather, not take out of) your pocket the sum of $400 (or for a joint application a total of $800). This is money the government normally would have taken out of your salary that you are now allowed to keep. It’s the same amount you will receive in 2009, only divided along 12 months instead of 9. This, in case you meet all the requirements and benefit from the full tax deduction. The amount of the deduction will be smaller depending on where you stand on the annual income chart. You will not be receiving a check in the mail or a check from your employer to mark the stimulus tax cut, but rather, you will be receiving an extra few dollars every month on top of what you’ve been earning so far. Those with maximal benefits from the stimulus will cash an extra $33 every month for the duration of the 2010 stimulus check thanks to the stimulus plan. That means that if you are filing for the federal tax deduction with someone else, together you will receive $66 every month.
If you are working two jobs and qualify for the federal tax cut, you will probably need to be extra careful. As it turns out, you stand to get a tax deduction on both paychecks, which means that you that you have double benefits, which unfortunately isn’t possible. Even if you are working two jobs, you only qualify for one share of the stimulus plan, which means that if you receive the something extra on your paychecks from both jobs, you will either have to notify one of your employers instructing them to desist, or you will be required to return the extra money after the end of the fiscal year.
The tax deductions that accompany the stimulus plan are meant to make it easier to navigate through the economic crisis, for the hard working Americans who find themselves having difficulty keeping up with the ever changing economic climate. While it might not seem like much on a grand scale, the federal tax deduction comprised in the 2010 stimulus check can make things a lot easier for many of those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Folks, if you are in the military, STAY! While military life can be tough, at least health care is free and housing is free! I separated from the military 18 years ago, and now I am finally starting to regret it.
In the civilian world, rents are over $1000 a month, so you’ll need to make at least $20 an hour in order to make it. Where will you find a job that will starts with this kind of pay? Corporations no longer care for people like they used to – all they care about is how much much “green” they can get. The oil disaster off the Louisiana coast is a perfect example of this. Eleven lives were lost because someone cut corners in order to try to save a “buck”. We hear about this all the time! So naturally, corporations are not willing to give employees raises because then they will lose more money. I even heard of corporations secretly taking out life insurance policies on their own employees, so that if they die, they will make a bundle off of them.
While I am indeed a civilian, I am blessed to have health insurance, even though it is not completely free. I recently have hernia surgery, and it was an in-and-out procedure. Had I not had insurance, my bill would have been over $10,000. I’m guessing that this is about the same amount as it is now just to have a baby.
So my advice to all the young people – when you get out of school, join the military and don’t get out! If you go on to college, you will accumilate debt that you probably will never be able to pay off even if you do get a job! And if military life isn’t your “cup of tea”, well consider moving to “free health care” Canada or Britain.

hello thank you for letting me express my feelings on the supposed 2010 stimulis check we all are hoping to get ? speaking for myself it would help many people incuding myself that are on a low income my husband passed away 6 yrs back and we lost a 18 yr old son he took his life had cancer yrs back so we had put a second mort on the home here to pay for his funeral etc when my husband passed away there was no money or ins etc things had not been easy but thank god every day for what i do have and i would certainly appreciate a 2010 stimulis check to put more food on the table i had to sell everything i had to hold on to the place im sure there are many folks like me in the same situation or worse so c on president of the usa lend us a hand god bless

Boy I just read all the comments and there are some really ticked off people, and they should be, our government never has any money problems, they get raises, (as they give them to themselves) they have all the health insurance they want, most of them don’t know the price of gas, as they do not have to pay for it, they would not know the price of groceries as they don’t cook or shop for the food, also what are all the big dinner parties that the president has with all the celebraties, why is that necessary and who pays for that????a very confused tax payer.

If you people that are waiting for a check read the article you would learn that there will be no “check.” The money will come in the form of reduced federal taxes.
Has anyone noticed that the people whining about needing more handouts also need more education? Maybe instead of handing out money the government should sponser classes. They could possibly even require attendance and effort with education in order to recieve their disability payments.

I find it very interesting that as a senior citizen and on social security that we can’t get a cost of living increase…. and, that a personal friend who has a minimum paying job files his tax return and is due a $560.00 refund… also receives an additional $400.00 in his refund (total $960.00) for a so called tax credit. That $400.00 additional refund spread over a 12 month period for seniors on SS would put $33.33 in our pocket to cover the high cost of medical care and drug coverage.
What is wrong with this picture? We need to take back our country and stop letting the government decide who and what we receive as seniors. We have worked hard and supported this country with our dollars and all the government wants to do is punish us.

The 2010 Stimulus Plan leaves out the Seniors and Disabled ! Most don’t make enough to pay taxes ! Congress takes the Cost of Living raise from Seniors and the Disabled. Then they say they will give a $250.00 Stimulus payment to offset the loss. Then they go behind closed doors and vote themselves a raise. And then comes the icing on the cake, reneging on the $250.00 stimulus payment for seniors and the disabled because they don’t know where they would get the funds…..well dummies, quit throwing taxpayer money away on nonsense ! Get us out of the middle east. The nation would be better served by placing troops (not the guard), on the border. These troops are paid from funds in the budget so there would be no extra cost as there would be if the guard was activated and used for this….greed and corruption runs rampant in America, and the economic meltdown, lack of border security, etc, can be laid at the feet of our US Congress and their relationship with Corporate America. There are some good, honest men and women in the Congress, but they lack the numbers to overcome the corruption and enforce the will of the people.

I am another one thats disabled. I have a bone disorder that causes my spine to colasp so i am headed for a chair in the future. so i cant earn any extra money. I get ssi a whoppin 674 a month an a creditor just took 165 out of my checking account because i deposited half of the cell phone bill me an my daughter split, to pay a loan, i had to have to fix my car ! so now i cant pay this, VERY HIGH INTREST LOAN, or my rent. So now i have to go borrow the money to pay my bills an make more payments that amount to a $1000 for $211. for another 9 months an i only had 4 months to pay it all OFF so i cant get the teeth pulled that are affecting my heart an health by making me sick everyday. and yes i need that 250 check badly I hope the credtor makes him or her self feel good about taking away from someone who didnt have anything to TAKE i have TRIED TO MAKE PAYMENTS TO THEM THEY REFUSED MY 25 A MONTH It wasnt 350 Even after i told them my income IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS IF I HAVE A LEAGAL LEG,,, TO SUE THESE PEOPLE PLZZ SEND ME A EMAIL I LIVE IN MISSOURI AN DEAL WITH BAD DEPRESSION AN GET SICK ETC. I can’t believe that so many people are wondering when they will get the $250.00 rebate for 2010. Don’t people realize it takes time for Washington to get something done , something as big as sending out millions of checks. I to0 would like to know but nobody is even saying we are getting the 250.00. I am surprised the news media hasn’t chased down the whole truth. They usually know everything before it happens. iam disable able i am tring to take care of my kids it hard i was woundering if any body heared if we were getting a second stimulus check.i t pretty bad we dont get a raise on our ssi checks.No one dont have to live like we do on a fixed icome all they care is they have a good paying job you always see rich ones driving nice cars tell the presdent care but not the congress. Have them live like we do we always have to wake up and worry how are we going to pay our bills wwhen things up all the time.I was wounderiing how you get a grant to help with power getting shut off and help with getting a air contion i have a daughter that has asma she surve with breathing proubles i cant even afford to buy one a air contion for her please let me know if there is any help out there my number is 485-0257 ask for shannon fuerstenberg

I am disabled and receiving SSD. I work part-time at a very low wage, but I file my income taxes to the IRS. When can I expect to receive a stimulus check for 2010? As you know, there was no cost-of-living increase for those on SSN, SSD, or SSI. for 2010. Please reply. Thank you.

Yes I would love to speak briefly on this matter!!!! I think its great that your doin that for the people that are disabled but for cryin out loud what good will $33.00 a month do for the ones that work we still end up giving it right back to the goverment in fuel costs or taxes on daily needs…. Im a 28 year old single parent thats trying my best to make it off $7.50 an hour but only 15 hours a week & recieves no child support all because the other person doesnt work a job that pays taxes so there for it cant be verified but hello its just common sense that no human is going to work in construction for no less than 10.00 an hour well especially in North Carolina anyway!!! But instead of makin them go to work the government wants to send them to JAIL FOR 30 PLUS DAYS where they have it made your talking about 3 meals a day running water,lights and the opportunity to sit on there butts with no responsibilties AT ALL…. SO WHY WOULD THEY EVEN ATTEMPT TO PAY CAUSE ITS NOT LIke JAILS a TOURCHER.. TO MOST ITS A BREEZE CAUSE THEY GO THERE SO MUCH. SO HONESTLY WHAT GOOD DOES THAT DO FOR THE KIDS…. Some one needs to take charge in this country an do some thing for the people who really need the help , i read where a state decressed their ssi an ssd how can one do this when they get garbage for money as it is,while all these politians are getting fatter an richer every one else are getting pitty poorer i as a dog hunter help when we can by donating wild game to those who barley make ends meet last yr we donated over a 1000lbs of wild pork to people we know who live on ssi, that meat helped them make it days longer at the end of the month . If we can help why cant the goverment do their part we are dog hunters helping feed the poor an proud of what we do to help these people who would other wise starve thanks to the senate an congress an even tho obama wants the stimulus for them he cause them not to get the increase every january since he took office , so he is partly to blame too he promised alot an did nothing for the poor at all except make them poorer!

Also, nobody told you to have children. If you’re going to procreate, atleast make sure you can provide for your family. Or did you think the government would take care of it all. They already pretty much offer a lot of assistance that’s why people have become so comfortable being low income. If you were smarter or had goals you wouldn’t be in this destitute situation.
