The 2010 stimulus check is set to help over 90% of Americans, but how will this affect you? The changes operated after the implementation of the stimulus have shown themselves clearly in 2009 by way of the stimulus check a high percentage of citizens have received, but its continuation in 2010 will be a bit different. The way in which the stimulus will work consists in a decrease in federal taxes, which will manifest itself through increases in average Americans’ paychecks.
But how do you know you qualify for this generalized federal tax deduction that is part of the government’s stimulus package and how should you go about receiving what the government is offering you, like a 2010 stimulus check ? First of all, in order to qualify, you must be paying social security; this means you have to be employed (or self-employed), i.e. you must be working and paying taxes. You must also make sure that your income does not exceeded the amount of $95,000 per year, or, if you are married and wish to submit a joint stimulus consideration request, then the joint income of the two applicants mustn’t exceed $190,000 per year. You must also keep in mind that certain restrictions to the federal tax cut the stimulus will grant you apply if your annual intake exceeds $75,000 or if you and your spouse’s joint annual income exceeds $150,000.
The federal tax deduction comprised in the stimulus will put in (or rather, not take out of) your pocket the sum of $400 (or for a joint application a total of $800). This is money the government normally would have taken out of your salary that you are now allowed to keep. It’s the same amount you will receive in 2009, only divided along 12 months instead of 9. This, in case you meet all the requirements and benefit from the full tax deduction. The amount of the deduction will be smaller depending on where you stand on the annual income chart. You will not be receiving a check in the mail or a check from your employer to mark the stimulus tax cut, but rather, you will be receiving an extra few dollars every month on top of what you’ve been earning so far. Those with maximal benefits from the stimulus will cash an extra $33 every month for the duration of the 2010 stimulus check thanks to the stimulus plan. That means that if you are filing for the federal tax deduction with someone else, together you will receive $66 every month.
If you are working two jobs and qualify for the federal tax cut, you will probably need to be extra careful. As it turns out, you stand to get a tax deduction on both paychecks, which means that you that you have double benefits, which unfortunately isn’t possible. Even if you are working two jobs, you only qualify for one share of the stimulus plan, which means that if you receive the something extra on your paychecks from both jobs, you will either have to notify one of your employers instructing them to desist, or you will be required to return the extra money after the end of the fiscal year.
The tax deductions that accompany the stimulus plan are meant to make it easier to navigate through the economic crisis, for the hard working Americans who find themselves having difficulty keeping up with the ever changing economic climate. While it might not seem like much on a grand scale, the federal tax deduction comprised in the 2010 stimulus check can make things a lot easier for many of those who are struggling to make ends meet.

You politicians in Washington told those of us on Social Security and S.S.D
that there would be NO COST OF LIVING INCREASE FOR TWO YEARS .
And it hurts !
Need I remind you who is the enployee and who is the enployer ?

Perhaps you in Washington should go without a pay raise for that same amount
of time .

Suppose every day ten men go out for beer. The bill for all ten comes to $100.00. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that’s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day. They seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. ‘Since you are all such good customers,’ he said, ‘I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.00.
‘Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men – the paying customers?
How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share?’ They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.
So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.‘I only got a dollar out of the $20,’ declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,’ but he got $10! ”Yeah, that’s right,’ exclaimed the fifth man. ‘I only saved a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than me! ”That’s true!’ shouted the seventh man.
‘Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks.’
”Wait a minute,’ yelled the first four men in unison. ‘We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!‘The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man (the richest) didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, Boys and Girls — Journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

In 2008 and 2009, my stimulus check went back to the fed govt because of the new mandatory Fema flood insurance requirements.
I actually had to add to this amount. Signed by a disabled veteran. -
Where in the hell is my check? Every time I try to find out information on the
stimulus check, all I get is a bunch of crap that doesn’t answer my questions.
Are we getting one or not? If so, when? Is that too hard to answer? I’m beginning
to think a moron could get a job in Washington. All I need is yes or no, and a
date off the calendar. My grandchildren could do that, and I know they can run

I think that this plan is not right cause the people that have to work 50-70 hours just to make ends meet and pay bills really will not notice a difference in our pay checks. In my opinion the people that deserve the checks are the people that work to provide a living for their families. They are busting their ass to make sure their family has a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs, food in their stomachs. A few dollars extra in each check will not really help. Especially around this time of year is when it seems that times get hard, and we could really use that actual check to help keep things stable. In my opinion an actual check would make more sense. Besides how can you provide checks for the first 2 years and then all of a sudden change things. Their are people out their that are in debt and that few hundred dollar check helps more than a few extra dollars in your paycheck.

Just called the White House a few minutes ago and spoke to someone on the comment line. Asked her to have someone from the White House look at all the comments people have written about not get the Stimulus for 2010. Hopefully they will look at all the comments. The White House comment line phone number is 202 456-1111. You can talk to a real person there. So far there isn’t any stimulus in the works for disabled or retired people. That is the latest I’ve heard. A friend of mine is getting $250. from Medicare but that is the only $250. that I’ve heard about anyone getting. I personally don’t qualify for the $250. so I can stop looking for anything in my mail. God Bless the USA.

I walk at 7am every morning and during this time (1 hour) I talk to God specifically for our President, armed forces, teachers, law enforcement, govern’t, all forms of leadership, citizens (to all that are breathing). I am a Christian woman and all I can ask every person that loves the Lord and truely trusts Him is to join me every morning at the same time whether you are walking or not…lifingt up each group of people in prayer.And to not pray a selfish prayer I say “Not my will be done but instead Your will be done in Jesus name that You are glorified…for the greater good for all humanity, creation and the world.. It’s easy to say we trust Him but do we????You know the scripture that quotes “All things work together for good…”FOR THOSE….WHO LOVE HIM” and are called according to His purpose. Now if you love him and trust Him …then you should not worry because everything is going to work out to be good….You should be excited to know He has already worked things out for you…at His timing…which is always on time. HE HAS A PURPOSE in mind that He be glorified. You are where you are because He called you to this for this season. Remember (To those who love Him and are called by Him) Now if you don’t love him or trust Him then you may have a reason to worry. If you love Him and trust Him do you not know He is in control of everything and everyone…including the President. The heart of every man is in the hands of God and He can turn it in any way He pleases. And like someone said…The president inherited 8 yrs of chaios. Things will always appear to become worse before they get better….You call this CHANGE and the unknown. Embrace it, accept it, live it, share it. There are negative energies just as there are positive energies…..and if it’s true which ever one you believe in will be the one that belong to you. Negative or Positive. So instead of giving the universe so mjuch negative energy about what the president is doing or not doing and that you are poor and can’t make ends meet…why not give the universe positive energy that God is in control and He can bring you out of any situation at anytime. Ya see God is not moved by the President, the economy nor anything else. He has a purpose and a plan.So please get rid of all the negatives and focus on the positives. In any given time there is someone on the face of this earth that would love to take the place that you stand in right now. Be grateful and remember the children of Isreal stayed in the wilderness for 40 yrs when they were only suppose to be there 11 days…..Why???because they didn’t trust God and they complained and murmured and when this happens you’re telling God that you do not trust Him, He’s not in control, You need to help Him and your thoughts and ways are greater and higher than His. Also be careful of your judgeing others because you will be judged and He who is with out sin please throw the first stone. No one is without sin….no one. We will never understand the beginning until we get to the end. One last thing what you believe is what you will speak of and what you speak comes from your heart then your thoughts, your thoughts will cause emotions (good or bad), your emotions with determine your behavior, your behavior will determine your actions and your actions will determine your outcome…..I don’t know if you know it or not….but Black people did not get Obama into office. Please lets Love more, laugh more and give more…..If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t …YOU ARE RIGHT.

I got prolly the best idea !! lets just impeach the whole GOV!! 1st of all it’s supposed to be for the people (,well I feel we been getting the raw end for yrs) not for the industry, which we all know is true,, you wanna help the economy well put those billions that you gave to auto industry and banks in the pocket of the tax payer where it’s needed the most!! I’m sure a tax payer that could pay off or buy a new car or pay off a house mortage could stimulate the economy and better his/ her way of living, would be in everyones best interest,,,

I want to say I proudly serve my country in the United States Army. About 90% of this site is bashing the President on what he hasnt sone and what he is failing to do. Why do expect a change now America? We let Bush bring our economy down to where it is now. I cant drive down the street without seeing a new face on the corner asking for a few pennies just feed his face. We expect President Obama to fix the problems that we have had over the last 8 years instantly. Its not going to happen that fast America. I believe that it will happen as fast as he can bring this change with the support of our country .

I am on S.S.I. and I am one of the many who didn’t get our yearly raise. I don’t understand some of you who are complaining about all of us who want or need that rebate check. I get $674 a year and if it weren’t for the fact that my husband before he left bought and paid for my home and property, I would probably be homeless. Housing is way more than I make a month, especially if you add in electricity, water, gas, and trash, Food stamps yeah I get those $80 doesn’t buy much food. My home is falling apart and i don’t have money to fix it.. Now i ain’t looking for sympathy (cause lord knows there are people who have it way worse than me and I know a few myself) I just wanted to let you know that the money is important and needed by most of us especially the poor. We didn’t get our cost of living raises, but the cost of living did go up. So if we complain , I’m sorry you don’t like it, I am happy if you are making it.

Hey cat, dont give me that load of bull about how hard the military life. I know better by personal experience. My neice’s hubby is in the service. That have money out the wazzoo and see their friends and relatives all the fricken time. Sure they get moved around alot but its NOT like YOU say it easy. My niece and her hubby are living the hi life. They are getting thousands of dollars more than I am. They get new cars every year. Own a bunch of houses. Have huge bank accounts. so do come on here and lie to us. I KNOW BETTER.

what i want to know how these men get ssi and don’t have to pay child support no more once they start getting their benefits.but we get everything counted as income from light bill to rent and they go scott free especially when they living with somebody else and don’t have to pay no bills at all.another thing people on ssi didn’t get no raise this year but everything still going up gas food lights and not to mention when you have a teenage child in high school and he wants to do band and other stuff he can’t because i don’t have the money, but daddy running free with his first of the month check. the government really need to get it together .you can’t even get marry without them cutting your ssi off base on the other person income what kind of mess is that you still got the disability just cause you get marry don’t mean youre heal.now don’t get me wrong i know it use to be when you get marry the man suppose to take care of his family but times are very different now where as a man can’t find a good job anymore cause it ain’t none so how do the government expect that man to take care of his family off a 8.00 an hour job but we still can’t say i do because they will cutoff my check so i guess we will be going to hell for the government.and speaking of cutting things they took our cost of living raise and didn’t even give you no more food stamp my son and i living off of 16.00 a month in foodstamp i have to take money and add to it or we would’t be able to eat wow thanks government for all the help we don’t receive.

What you need to understand is that the President is not our boss, he is our employee. Yes, the president works for us, the American Citizens. Next, I am a disabled veteran, a single dad of three and I take care of my disabled parents, so I know exactly what you are and are not going through probably better than you do. If you let your own ignorance get in the way of supporting your family by not getting government financial assistance then you need to reconsider putting in your two cents worth on this blog. The Presidents job is to make sure we are provided for now and not 20 years from now when he is no longer in control. So, Kat, I recommend that you think about everything I have written and do some studying next time you want to make your voice heard. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON HIS CHILDREN….

My response is to “Kat” The United States Marine, “mom”. I am really shocked by your response to comments that people have made. “Suck it up through a straw”? That doesn’t sound like the military that I respect and admire for what they do!!! Are you disabled? If not, then you don’t know what disabled people go through on a daily basis to survive. You don’t know what “hardships” I personally have endured in my life. Your statement that people were going to just use the stimulus money for “booze” or “ciggarrettes” (spellilng?), was a totallly false judement on your part. I for one, don’t smoke, drink, or “do” drugs!!! To my knowledge your military pay would afford you to eat 3 meals a day. On my $99. in food stamps I eat ONE MEAL A DAY!!! Every day I collect cans so I can buy things like toilet paper, gas, and do my laundry!!! I go through trash cans to get cans that people have thrown away!!! I have been yelled at by more than one person about going in the trash!!! My estranged husband was a Marine, I guess they say “always a Marine”, and his VA retirement, due to an injury, is double what my social security is!!! In fact, next year he is going to receive over $300. from MY SOCIAL SECURITY although I only receive $121. from his VA benefits.
I have great compassion for any person going through HARDSHIPS!!! We, the poor and disabled are also ones that you a fighting for our FREEDOM!!! Please Kat don’t put us down like we are YESTERDAY’S GARBAGE and that we would only use the stimulus money for as you stated “BOOZE” and “CIGGARRETTES”.

Everyone needs to stop worrying about the President, He was elected into office, get a life, get a job and get over it! Obama can’t help what is going on; it’s not like it just started. Read your bible and you will see that you need much more guidance than the President. He will fail. We all will fail at some point and time. We need Jesus Christ. If we don’t let God into our lives, we are really doomed. Look around at what’s going on. Get your focus off all of this stuff and seek the face of God.
