2010 Stimulus check
October 31, 2009
The 2010 stimulus check is set to help over 90% of Americans, but how will this affect you? The changes operated after the implementation of the stimulus have shown themselves clearly in 2009 by way of the stimulus check a high percentage of citizens have received, but its continuation in 2010 will be a bit different. The way in which the stimulus will work consists in a decrease in federal taxes, which will manifest itself through increases in average Americans’ paychecks.
But how do you know you qualify for this generalized federal tax deduction that is part of the government’s stimulus package and how should you go about receiving what the government is offering you, like a 2010 stimulus check ? First of all, in order to qualify, you must be paying social security; this means you have to be employed (or self-employed), i.e. you must be working and paying taxes. You must also make sure that your income does not exceeded the amount of $95,000 per year, or, if you are married and wish to submit a joint stimulus consideration request, then the joint income of the two applicants mustn’t exceed $190,000 per year. You must also keep in mind that certain restrictions to the federal tax cut the stimulus will grant you apply if your annual intake exceeds $75,000 or if you and your spouse’s joint annual income exceeds $150,000.
The federal tax deduction comprised in the stimulus will put in (or rather, not take out of) your pocket the sum of $400 (or for a joint application a total of $800). This is money the government normally would have taken out of your salary that you are now allowed to keep. It’s the same amount you will receive in 2009, only divided along 12 months instead of 9. This, in case you meet all the requirements and benefit from the full tax deduction. The amount of the deduction will be smaller depending on where you stand on the annual income chart. You will not be receiving a check in the mail or a check from your employer to mark the stimulus tax cut, but rather, you will be receiving an extra few dollars every month on top of what you’ve been earning so far. Those with maximal benefits from the stimulus will cash an extra $33 every month for the duration of the 2010 stimulus check thanks to the stimulus plan. That means that if you are filing for the federal tax deduction with someone else, together you will receive $66 every month.
If you are working two jobs and qualify for the federal tax cut, you will probably need to be extra careful. As it turns out, you stand to get a tax deduction on both paychecks, which means that you that you have double benefits, which unfortunately isn’t possible. Even if you are working two jobs, you only qualify for one share of the stimulus plan, which means that if you receive the something extra on your paychecks from both jobs, you will either have to notify one of your employers instructing them to desist, or you will be required to return the extra money after the end of the fiscal year.
The tax deductions that accompany the stimulus plan are meant to make it easier to navigate through the economic crisis, for the hard working Americans who find themselves having difficulty keeping up with the ever changing economic climate. While it might not seem like much on a grand scale, the federal tax deduction comprised in the 2010 stimulus check can make things a lot easier for many of those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Dear SentorsOr Congressmen or Women, I have a good idea on how to bring our nation again. back to buying power that our nation has a leader around the globe with you. Concerning the state of our union and bailout enconomy. The globle enconomy has been so arrested that we are just about 2nd in leading the world in national and international trade markets around the globe. My idea should give the U.S.A. buying power to lead the world in resserecting our dollars. I,m a sinle women now that my husband passed away 5 years ago. I have grown children, and 5 grandaughters. Who are under the age of 5. I do not want my grandaughters paying for our mistakes.

This whole 2010 stimulus thing is so freakin confusing. My husband works and I am unemployeed right now. He makes more than $95,000.00. We file jointly and we certainly do not make more than $190,000.00 a year. We did not get one in 2009, but we did receive one in 2008. Can someone please shed some light on the stimulus. Thank you.

Geez people….when am I gonna get this, when am I gonna get that? If you lived in another country, you wouldn’t even get the pittance you are receiving now. How ungrateful can you be. Atleast you are getting something!! Yes I wish everybody was healthy and didn’t need doctors or hospitals or health insurance. I pray for all of you who struggle with illness. But you can’t bring down the whole ship providing for those who can’t. Its simple economics not profiteering. If a hospital provides free services for all, that hospital will be providing nothing very quickly as it will have to close down. Now how many people will that help?? Quit being greedy. Guess what happens if you are disabled and not able to work in Mexico or Africa….YOU DIE! Wake up and be grateful that you live in the greatest country in the world AND QUIT COMPLAINING!

Am I reading this right:
So if I worked more than two jobs last year, I will not be receiving this extra 4 bills?
-
Has the 2010 stimulus check been pased by congress.
-
I am on social security disability and have heard that people receiving disabilty will receive another $250 stimulus check for 2010. Is this info correct and if so when should we expect to receive this payment?

My check is almost $10 less per month. That may not be much to some people but for me it pays for a month of metformin for my diabetes. My husband has been out of work for 3 months – he’s in new construction. There is no work. He can’t find another job because he has two old felonies on this record. He is trying to better himself but no one will give him a chance. He only has 2 weeks of unemployment left. I work full time plus a part time job and we are still short every month. They need to extend unemployment benefits until this economy picks up. We both drive older model cars, we aren’t shoppers, I only have $400 credit card debt, we live and have always lived a very simple life. Our house is under 1000 square feet. We have no kids so we get no benefits there. We covered all our windows with plastic and keep the thermostat on 66 & 67 degrees to be able to pay our electric bill. What is the answer? I don’t know but I wish someone would help me figure it out.

why arent we getting a check for 2010 i am on disability and we didnt get a cost of living raise they said we would get 250.00for our raisethey bailed out the car manufactors and banks why cant we get our raise or a 250.00 for 2010

I so hope that those of us on SSD do get to have a check this year. Since the President has decided that prices for gas electric food heat water has not gone up. So here I sit on my daughters computer, I can’t have one at home, Trying to contact someone that can help those that are like me. I am trying to make it on 700 dollars a month. I have gotten some help from different programs, but guess what their funding has been cut too. Our medicare premiums have gone up. So there is 57 dollars off the top. Then you have rent, electric, and gas, if you can get a car, now food, yep I do get link, food stamps, all of my 48 dollars. I am diabetic so the diet i am supposed to be on, I cant afford. So I do my best. Now the best of all. I just got a letter saying that I have to justify the amount of times I check my sugar levels a day. The Dr would like me to check it 3 to 4 times a day, since my diet isnt up to par, but the new medical guidelines say that I should only be checking once a day. And they only pay a percentage of my supplies. My strips cost me another 28 dollars a month just to check once a day. So to those who have said it isn’t hard for us or that we are wanting to live like this you are soo mistaken. I would love to have my life back to what it was before a drunk took it away. Be thankfull for what you do have. YOu never know when you may not have it.

What about us that are self employed? Those of us who dont get a weekly, biweekly, or even monthly check? If we work but dont recieve a weekly check how do we get our stimulus? I got cut out of my stimulus in 2009 since they put it in “paychecks” which I dont get!
-
When is this going to kick in? I actually saw a $13 decrease in my bi-weekly pay starting with the first pay period of 2010. Nothing on my end changed in terms of the number of dependents claimed (I claim 0) or percentage that I am putting away towards my HSA and 401K. Did California increase it’s state tax by that much??

i was wandering if people on social security disability was going to get a stimulus of 250.00 this year.us people on social security can use it just as much as the other paople that are going to get it in there paycheck
we have fuel and all that to pay for also so it can sure come in handy. -
As far as an increase in my paycheck? I haven’t seen a difference at all!!!!!
When was that supposed to have started. Also, my wife is disabled and has receive stimulus in 2008/2009. What about 2010?????? Is anyone gonna answer these questions?????? -

if you’re married, you can’t file single and claim to be married. married people get $800 per couple. that’s $400 per person. the same as you.

Will I get the stimulus check for 2010? I am disabled and unable to work. I receive Social Security Disability. I though people on SS, SSI, SSD, will get a stimulus check for $250.00, Because we didn’t get a rise on SS, SSi, SSD, check this year.
-
I’m really glad that we are getting the stimulus checks, weather it be March or May ! It’ll will really help with back bills. I have spent days trying to find low in come programs to help me with my bills. They are out there you just have to sit and look and look.Go to different sites and use different key words .that’s the hard part. There not perfect but they do help.Like the old saying god helps those who help themselves! Thanks for the stimulus!!

K.O.R. said it the best. We all need to take responsibilty for how our lives are going. and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP WITH THE WHOLE ILLEGAL IMMAGRANTS ARE STEELING ALL THE JOBS FROM US. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT AFFECT YOU WHEN, LAST I CHECKED MCDONALDS IS ALLWAYS HIRING, AND WENDY’S ,TACO BELL AND ect. not only that but immagrants may have the job but there not getting any of the bennefits from the millions of hours they work. not social security or anything. So maybe we’ll stkop and think about that the next time we try to use that as an excuse for being jobless.
-
So what they are saying is that you have to pay Social Security to qualify for the stimulus package. What about the people that work for the state that money is taken out for their pentions and not SS. Not one penny will this individuals recive as part of the package? This is pretty sad since all state employees do pay texas? Not to mention that they assist un-employed individuals with their paperwork to help them receive un-employment bennefits, and help with their job assistance not to mention they educate our children it’s just a sad shame.
-
I were told the houses has to pass bill for stimulus payment has the bill been passed ?
-
I’m laid off. Site says you have to be working to get the stimulus. So I’m not getting anything because I can’t find a job? It’s not like I’m a deadbeat living off my government. I went to college for six years (and graduated from a Big Ten university) and in this current job market I can’t even get hired as an elementary school lunch lady (yes I tried). So many other people not working. I always hear that I’m overqualified. When I’m properly qualified there’s always someone else who’s out of work who has more experience. Can’t win either way. But I still pay my taxes. I still contribute. Why am I left out?
-
Will I get the stimulus check for 2010? I am disabled and unable to work. I receive Social Security and SSI. Please advise. Thank you.

So does this mean our federal tax return is gonna be smaller than normal?
-
Thats awesome, I agree with KOR im not even putting a TV in my house when i get older LOL
-
JUST ADDED UP WE SHORT 4 DOLLARS EVERY YEAR THAN GETTIN A LUMP OF 400 NOT A BIG DIFFERENCE BUT SEE HOW THE GOV. TREAT US TAX PAYERS
-
honestly i think the american people would rather get a lumpsum check then 33 dollars being added to each check, because with a lumpsum you can do more at the time at hand then like , WHOA!! an extra 33 dollars amonth on my check. If 33 dollars every month make that big of a difference in your life than maybe you should change your occupation
-
AMEN!!!!!!!
Got something to say?
