250$ Social Security Stimulus Check in 2010

The US government is taking every measure to revive the economy and bring it out of the recession. President Obama has said that there will be a Social Security Stimulus Check in 2010 for $250. However, the final decision for this special measure is up to the congress. They should approve bill H.R.3557 – To provide an emergency cost-of-living increase for Social Security benefits for 2010 in their next session. This will be a bonus and will cost the government about $13 billion. The last couple of years has seen the worst slowdown in all the markets including the housing and financial markets which has caused a lot of problems to the economy. By the distribution of the social security stimulus check in 2010 the government hopes to stimulate the markets and the economy and the slowdown can be reversed.
Any individual who is at present receiving payment from Social Security is eligible for the Social Security stimulus check in 2010. Other people who will be eligible are veterans who are disabled, SSI (Supplement Security Income) recipients, and retired federal government employees. The retired employees of federal government who reside in states where social security is not received, even they will get this check. All these people will get the $250 check irrespective of their income level and whether they are working or not. The other people who are eligible to get the social security stimulus check in 2010 are the ones who have an income which is not taxable. If for some reasons these people are able to earn a taxable income after the receipt of this check then they will have to return it to the government or deduct the amount from the refund on federal tax.
The Social Security stimulus check is proposed to be paid by 31st March 2010. The mode of receipt of this check will be the same as how you get your usual payment of Social Security. If its made by check through the mail you will also get this check by mail. If you are getting an electronic payment directly into your bank account then the $250 will be directly paid into your account.
Calculation of Social Security monthly pay check amounts are based on the cost of living. Due to the recession this has not seen any rise, and this check is something to compensate for the same prevailing amount. This additional pumping of funds is supposed to boost the economy and also help the people who receive Social Security in general. It has been seen that Social Security forms an important source of income for a retiree and he receives about $1,150 per month. If you take the statistics, social security amounts, form 40% of all the income of elderly people put together. For one fifth of elderly married couples social security forms almost ninety percent of their income and for two fifths of the elderly singles as well.
The Social Security Stimulus Check which will be sent in 2010 for $250 can help to pay part of any of your debts especially credit cards. Although the amount is not much it will reduce your debt and your interest payments to that extent.

IIagree with everyone we do need help they are treating us wrong. we are losing our homes and we can’t fvfn buy food are clothes we want thing to i just don’t understand why if they try to live like we have to for one month off $674.00amonth and they rent is from $350.00 or #400.00 and your lights is $200.00 or$150.00 they could not make it .please help us mr. congress please pass the bill help us,we need help please sent us the$250.00 stimulate checks please we would like to eat some ribs to for the 4 of july u have time to give it ti us before that day help us please

WELL I JUST WANT TO SPEAK MY OPINION AND I’M NOT DISABLED, BUT I FEEL WHERE THE DISABLED PEOPLE COMING FROM BECAUSE THE ECONOMY HAVE GOTTEN WORST. THE EXTRA 250 WOULD HELP A LOT A PEOPLE THAT ARE IN A BIND. I FEEL WHY WOULD YOU START A STIMULUS CHECK IN ONE YEAR AND JUST DECIDE THE NEXT YEAR THAT THE DISABLED WANT GET ONE. IN CLOSING I THINK THE PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY WORK DESERVES THE 250 REBATE ALSO.

I too been reading alot of e-mails about the stimulus, I also receive ssi, & I was hoping to receive a stimulus check, s I could some clothes school stuff for my daughter for this & books that she will need too, I hope the stimulus do come, Because I sure could use it too. I think it is pretty bad that they can spend billions of dollar,s on people in other countries with no problem and famous singers can raise billions for people in other countries but no one care,s about the people in their own country. They dont care if you are starving,homeless or anything else. Their back,s hve been turned on there own for to long. It really hurts to know that your own country could care less about you. All most of them care about is lying to the people and lining there own pocket,s. It is getting harder and harder to be proud of being an American. I think they would be happy if the poor were to die off because all that will leave is the ones with all the money and they can take care of themselves so there would be no more money going for program,s for the poor. Shame on this country.

It is just unbelievable that congress would deny disabled citizens an opportunity to receive $250.00 , when our disability was no fault of ours but an act of GOD. I became disabled in my sleep there were things going on in my body that even modern science could not catch i really felt angry for awhile but who was i angry with i just had to face the fact that at 34 years old i had just come out of a coma lost my job my home and my marriage. you may aswell say i was slapped hard. and now living on my own in an apartment I’m basically just trying to stay independant support myself on what income is coming in trying not to be a dependant in a facility paid for by the govt. all i was hoping for was just a little piece of the pie to help out here but you denied me that i refuse to give up. worried looks back and around but believers look up and forward.YOU REAP!! WHAT YOU SOW!! 7 FOLD.

I thank God For our President Obama, like it or not he is our, yours and everybody else in America’s president. God gave him the job, and regardless to what anyone tries to do, or say about him, as long as God is on his side, he shall not fail. Think about that for a moment, and then go and find something you can do that is going to help the people of this world. I take one day at a time, each moment is precious to me. I need all the help I can get. I worked for the Postal system for over 30 years, and was not able to get soc. sec. but bye God’s grace I am making it. I too look forward to the 250.00 check, but i have better sense than to blame our President for such a thing. Where have you been all your life, if you think everything that is wrong is President Obama’s fault. Start praying, we all need more of that. I heard last friday on the local news that “congress” is going to give us our darned MONEY!!!Obama is just a figurehead the clowns in the senate and congress throw all the weight around!!!.I say make them real “public servants” and live on what we feel like giving them.I hate to even think it but another civil war maybe down the road.Thank goodness I’ll be in the ground when that happens.But that money would really come in handy for all us retired “poor folk”.Keep your fingers crossed and your magizine loaded

i am a single parent raising two kids on my own just making it on ssi looking for this stimulus check its hard i am the type of person i never ask any body for nothing i look at my self so i sit down and look up at the man above and i know he is going to see me throw this.

I am on both V.A. Disability and S.S.D , and have yet to even see this so called stimulus check show up in my mail. I and many others could really use it, but apparently Congress is screwing the people yet again. I normally get a cost of living increase with my disability checks every year but not this year

I just want say that there are evil forces behind people who donot want other people to have money not be poor because the Bible say live and let live. these mean people donot care about anyone but themself. GOD is the final judge of these people.

the goverment needs to take care of the people in the us and stoping giving all our needs to non-americans They come over here with green cards andthe get houseing food cars money and it is all free. Then the non-american turn around and buy all the small lbusinesses in the area. You cannot go into a small store or quick mart with out see a non-american that owes the place. That all so includes all of the dunkin dounut shops as well. The american people need the help first before the goverment starts helping non-americans. Where are our free houseing and fooed and cars and all the other stuff that our goverment gives to the non-americans our money needs to stay in the U.S to help the american people especially since we have so many people living on the streets with out homes and food to feed them self. May be the people who run this country should take a walk down there own streets and take a good lok around because the help is needed right in your won back yard.

i too argree they didn’t give us an increase on our ssd, and then to boot were not getting a stimulus check either what greedy people, but yeah lets worry about other people in other countrys lets take care of them first, wth we can’t take care of ourselves. this world is messed up and regardless the rich get richer and poor get poorer and medium man pays for it all. no wonder why people run illegal drugs and ect, they can’t afford to keep their family with the income they have, and yeah go try to find a job being disabled, no one wants you cause your just a danger waiting to happen. there is no work out there for people anymore and if you do have a job your working for 10 people cause they company won’t hire anymore cause they can’t afford to pay employees. something needs to happen and soon, get someone in office that will change things and i don’t mean just one person. another thing what everyone needs to know ask congress how many of their releatives are overseas fighting for us- let me tell you there is only one, yeah only one, well the others are sitting at the table with their silver spoon waiting to be feed. how rude,,,,

i thank that we should get the stimulus package because me and my husband get ssi and can hardly make ends meet and need some more money to raise my family we have two kids and it is hard to pay all the bills on what we make and try to feed and clothes them i am so glad that we get a clothing valcher for school clothes with out it we would be hurting please pass the bill we need help

i worked my whole life since i was 16 years old. inherited coronary artery disease and had 3 heart attacks by the time i was 49 and had to go on disability. now i have a pacemaker because the disease has started to make the heart muscle itself die. my heart is only doing 20% and pacer 80%. struggling with bills and $450. in medicines a month is taking me and my husband down fast. my husband still works but only brings home $500 per week after taxes. about to lose my home and never know if the utilities are going to get paid. doctor says stress will make me die sooner, how do you stay away from stress when you are about to lose everything and not our fault because i got sick. everything just keeps going higher and we don’t see any way of survival.

I really thought that I would turn inside-out when at the end of 2009 beginning of 20010 I got the letter that I would “NOT” be getting a cost of living raise for the 2010 year!! I am permanently disabled…worked my whole life from the age of fourteen & now at fifty, I make less money than I did when I was twenty-one!!! I really could not believe that there has not been an increase of the cost of living, gas prices (& fuel) are higher, electricity is higher….I can not move from the drug infested neighborhood that I live in because in the two years that I have lived here rent has gone up!! I also lost my housing help because of a misunderstanding of the rent/utilities/food formula that they expect you to figure out, when it takes them two months to do themselves & my “new” caseworker would not help me…so therefore my cost of living skyrocketed, & any of you that are on disability knows, no one is going to help pay/defer the cost of moving!!! This stimulus check was suppose to be my saving grace, I have been trying to figure out how to move from this area( I am alone) & that check was suppose to help, well, it looks like they lied to us again…what is it they say?,”The rich get richer & the poor get walked on”! I am so tiered of going to this appointment for “Help” and that one that it makes you want to just give-up…right now I am in the process of selling off most of my possessions in order to get away from here!! And “THEY” wonder how people end-up homeless!! Or living in their cars (that is if they have one, or can afford to keep it running)!! I have been looking on the net & it is cheaper to live in a lot of other countries (& keep citizenship) than it is to live here in “OUR” home, & a lot of retirees are doing it!! I want to live in the states…where I belong, but it has almost come to the point where “THEY” are letting more people in & pushing “US” out. I have given-up on the Stimulus check, I was of the opinion that we were to get it by June 31,2010…maybe they will skip it & just give us a cost of living raise come the first of the year??? I doubt that too.

IM ON SSI ,AND GET 33 DOLLARS IN FOOD STAMP ,I HAVE TO TAKE SOME MONEY OF MY SSI.CHECK TO BUY FOOD WITH,ATHER THAT I HAVE NO MORE MONEY FOR THE RESTOF THE MONTH ,IM 49 YEAR OLD ,AND I DONT HAVE NO ONE TO HELP ME ,WITH FOOD OR BILLS,I ONLY GETS 661.00 EVERY MONTH,AND IM JUST MAKING ENDS MEATS, THEY ALOT’S PEOPLE OUT HERE THAT ON SSI AND SSA, SOME OF US WAS BORN LKIE THIS AND SOME OF US GOTTEN SICK WHILE WE WAS WORKING,SO WHY DON’T WE GET SOME KIND OF MONEY MORE THAN WE GOT,WE DO NEED THAT 250 DOLLAER THAT WILL HELP US OUT A LITTLE .

How is it that areas in the Government can just vote themselves a pay raise and we can’t even get a measly $250.00? From what I understand, the national poverty level is much higher than the national average wage of 30 years ago. The minimum wage is still so low that no one can live on it and most states think that only the executives should make enough to eat 3 square meals a day with a snack or two. I am on social security and congress needs to look at what it takes to exist out in the real world. If any of them had to count pennies and other change to get a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter maybe there would be some changes made. Stop helping all the people that are not born and raised in the USA and help us. We need it more. Going further, we have enough fossil fuel right here to sustain us for a long time. After all, we still have reserves that many know nothing about. Get rid of our almost total dependency on foreign oil. Give us a break here.

At some place in the Bible there is a passage that says it will be harder for a rich man to get into His Kingdom than a camel through the eye of a needle….also says if you have more than you can use give it to someone who does need it….this is the life of my parents, grandparents, and myself….I am on disability and live hopefully from month to month but I have food on my table and a bed to sleep in and a home (rented) to feel safe in…no one president did this to us..we helped

well i just got a letter from ssi saying the checks would start coming out the middle of this month and if thats not true they should’nt be allowed to mail letters like that out i’ll just wait and see
