The Government Stimulus Check of 2008: The first government stimulus check was given in 2008 as a measure to stimulate economy and enhance the buying power of Americans. At that time, the checks ranging from $200 to $600 were given to every American who was above 18 years of age. It has been pointed out that more than 124 million American households would be benefited from this program. Then, it was hoped that this money would be used to buy and services from the retail shops. However, most of the Americans used their manufactured goods stimulus checks to payback their bills.
The Economic Stimulus Package of 2009: In 2009, the American President Barrack Obama put forward his famous American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to give a stimulus to American economic activity and also to promote the higher education affordability of low-income Americans. Under this economic stimulus program, it was decided to provide one-time $250 worth government stimulus checks to every social security recipient, veterans, and railroad retirees. The American taxpayers were offered stimulus checks in the form of a tax rebate. The program provided a tax credit of up to $400 for every working individual and $800 tax credit for working families.

hello currentley lost my job do to this bad econmey we have going.. would some info on the stimulus check..is it av for 2011 and if so am i able to get it?? i have already filed for 2010 could somebody help?? times are rough.not just for myself but unfortunitly for the whole country thank you for your time zach k michigan
i . tto no how the govmemt want sickpeople to live on the littie money that you get i work hard along hour but i can donot work wish i could it hard try yo get by on less then 900.00 amonth i wish some one tell how to make it i get house note light bill tax ins. on my house and on my self help me please;
I think it would benice to ge another stimulus rebate check again this year! maybe thats all eveyone did is pay bills wit it ut good. I know m speaking for everyone when i say that,that check helped alot of americans in 2008!!!!!!!!!!
i read a comment from raising 3 .and ill agree very much with her .i went to nam got out and worked for 37 year .then i got in a motor cycle wreak broke my lift side up pretty bad.the doctors told me know going back to my old job.as i was a bulldozer and track hoe oper on road concturction.so file for ssd so .i get it im on antibiotics.2year later they cut my lift leg off .close to my hipe.the pills cause my teeth to brake.i ask medacare tohelp me with dentures.they say we doint cover that.but if your getting welfare theyll pay for all most anything. i made good money when i was working and when january came around the dam IRS sure had there hand out.some times i think i would be better off on ssi people get welfare help to on ssi.you no what gets my ass in the air is we help all these other countys and srew the tax payers of this country…im pisst irwin potter

After I pay all my bills this month , I will have 51 cents left! Try living 2 weeks more with that!!!!!!!! Oh yea, I do get $41.00 in food stamps! Guess how much I weigh? 103 #!! Wonder why???????????
Will we be getting a Stimulas check this month?
My sister just recently got approved for her social security disability. She lives in FL. She got a check ( stimulus recovery) for $ 250.00. This is per President Obama’s plan. I live in Ky and am on social security disability,and when I try to find out how to get this check the government tells me there’s no such thing!!! If anyone reads this and can tell me what to do,then please post it. Thanks.
i feel that we wating to long are we getting the check or not ot will put a lots of our min at peaces. So we can move on and find other ways to make ends meet
i work hard support 2 kids and a wife with out any gov help,
i was hoping to see a stimulas check this year but if im correct no dice ,i hope they at least give some help to seniors and disabled any news on that i have friends who are desperate they lost money this year
Something has bothered me for a long time and I would just like an answer to ease my mind. When everyone received the stimulus checks back in 2008 every single person was suppose to receive around $300 and every couple was suppose to receive around $600. Well, I was single then and everyone I knew that was single did receive their $300 and I was waiting on needles and pins for mine, because I had a grown daughter and her baby, and a grown son living with me at the time and we were living on my $11 an hr job. When I received mine it was right at $153.00. I called the IRS and asked them why it was so low. They couldn’t give me an answer. When I filed my taxes that next year HR Block put down that I received the correct amount, when I told him I didn’t he just said “We need to put down that you did cause we don’t want to start anything” That has bothered me all this time and I would like an answer I understand I will never get that money
I would just like to know why mine was short. I have since been diagnosed with stage IV cancer and am on disability, I wonder if we will ever get another stimulus check on it. Its very hard to stretch $563 out through a month, The loss of my paychecks that I received I was working along with the medical bills have caused us to have to file bankruptcy. I not only put up with having to quit my job, cause us to go bankrupt, I not only have to live with the pain of cancer but also with the quilt of getting sick. But in Oklahoma, they sa y my husbands $16 an hr (weather dependent job) in winter in bad weather he doesn’t get to work, that we make too much money to get food stamps or for me to qualify for SSI. Could someone explain how we are suppose to live?
As you all have heard people that work hard to pay in their taxes, don’t get a stimulus check or nothing for 2010. The stimulus went to people on welfare that are to lazy to get out here and work. People on welfare got $200 dollars per child for their childs school clothes back in July, and now in September they got $250 more per child to buy more school clothes. They also got for example say their is a family of three in the household that gets $301 in welfare, now in October they will get $602. This is not fair at all to the ones that work, we buy our childrens clothes. I have 3 children and where clothes were so high I only got to get them 5 outfits a piece and one pair shoes. After getting all the clothes and shoes I had no extra money for backpacks, and supplies. My husband also pays child support for one child a month of $308, while I only get $50 a month for 3 children. Now the money that want to welfare drawers, what was this money used for to help some people that are on welfare support their alcohol and drug habits, time people that are trying to work for a living make it. Well workers need support too, they have to buy their own gas to go to work, they have to make sure their vehicles are in top shape to drive, they have to buy their work clothes, and boots or whatever. Do you think the governor helps people like us that really need the help. Maybe to get the governor to help the workers, maybe the workers needs to quit work and go sign up on welfare. That would show the governor not to throw hard working tax payers money in the wrong places.
I have heard some people say they have recieved a stimulus check in the last few weeks .Is this the S/S cost of living benifit I have heard about. How is it being distributed, by s/s number as before or how. I would appriciate a response
I would like to receive a check same as everyone, but we all have to realize that NOTHING is coming. If we were going to receive something then we would have already gotten it. The Republican and Democrates are too busy trying to spend 100′s of millions on there own elections to worry about you and me. When will the american people finally wake up. When you go to the polls think this time. Voting against the democrates because you didnt get a check is not good because when the republicans get in then nothing and I mean NOTHING will move through the house or senate. Happy Holidays to all and hope next year is better for us all.
PS. Maybe if everyone didnt go to the polss then they would think..if they show they dont care then why should we bother?
There was a mention of a ss stimulus payment to be made in 2010 for seniors and or disabled, ssdi, is there any information on that, with due consideration that

I thought that the stimulus check was to be sent to people on 03/31/10? So what happened to it, and now when will get them?These stimulus is badly needed to help with somethings, i know it don’t sound like alot ,but it will help out.

President Obama it would be very good if you was to let people on ssi and disability payments receive another $250.00 like they did a few years ago, You always wanna talk about helping out Americans well by doing this is one way of helping them out.
I RECENTLY STARTED RECEIVING DISABILTY. AFTER MAKING WHAT IMAKE A MONTH IN A WEEK. I FIND IT VERY HARD TO KEEP UP WITH THE ECONOMY. ONCE i PAY MY MONTHLY BILLS WHICH OR WARTER ,ELECTRIC ,GAS, PHONE,AND ETC. I AM BROKE UNTIL THE NEXT MONTH.
