The Stimulus Check is when the previous president of the United States sent out checks to all citizens of the United States in the hope of easing the effect the economic downturn had on the citizens and their households.
In 2009, President Obama passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which enabled several stimulus checks to boost the economy. In 2009 the stimulus check was given to United States citizens as social security benefits, military pensioners and railroad pensioners. A one time payment $ 250 was given. Senior citizens are eligible as well. Citizens who are employed were also eligible for the stimulus check in 2009 and it is very likely that they will qualify for the SSI 2010 stimulus check as well. Those who are employed are also given a tax rebate on their salaries, which gives them spending power.
The 2010 stimulus plan will be the same as the stimulus plan that was in place in 2009. Senior citizens, those living on social security benefits and pensioners are hopeful that they will get their check on a weekly basis, but recent reports indicate that President Obama has announced that a one-time $250 stimulus check will be made in 2010 to recipients of Social Security. However it’s up to Congress to approve this bill. Senior citizens in the country are really worried about not getting the stimulus check for 2010.
Who is really eligible for the stimulus 2010? – Those depending on Social Security payments, Pensioners, unemployed citizens, veterans and the disabled.
By what date in 2010 can senior citizens expect the check? – It is not known which day or month the check will be sent but rumor has it that the check will be finalized and will go out before the end of March 2010. According to officials at the white house, the costs of all the stimulus checks are to top $ 13 – $14 billion for 2010 as well.
However, even though there are reports that confirm that senior citizens are eligible for the 2010 check as well, President Obama has to justify to the lawmakers that this is going to help the economy
It said that the 2010 plan would follow the economic recovery checks sent out during the spring of 2009 to senior citizens, disabled workers and some veterans as part of the broader stimulus package. Those veterans who qualify would include those who are currently on disability compensation, dependency compensation, and pension payouts and veterans who are receiving social security benefits are also eligible for the $250 check.
The senior stimulus check for 2010 is eligible only to citizens of the United States, Puerto Rico and Guam.
The check is aimed at helping those senior citizens and veterans who are being hit the most by the recession. These senior citizens and veterans should be allowed to enjoy their retirement benefits, but sadly that has not been the case since the economic downturn.
However, government officials are keeping a tight lip when veterans query on when they will actually receive the checks

i do agree what everybody is saying about this so call stimulius check,the goverment lie to us again,we are only good when they need us to vote for them,but now that they are in. where is all the promise they made to us,what we have to have millions to be up there scale,we wont to eat to,we have kids and bills to pay too,like them,thats why i stop voteing for them because all they do is sale us,middle an low class familys dreams,thats why there is so much crimes out there people are hungry they have a family to feed,if the goverment get off there fat asses and keep there promises and do what they said they gona do .then this will be a better place to live,i havent seen a raise on my ssi check like everybody else in 2 years,we depend on that money to live.

Why are they helping the banks out they need to be help us out the banks don’t need need no help we need it we are loses our home and if we don’t have money to keep our home and our children don’t have a place to live they will have something to said and will be going to jail and the police is not going to list to us and the judge they will put us right behind barsand were our childern be we need help no raise we have got one in 3 years and that a shame and chirstmas is come up we can’t get our children nothing and the congress u have time to pass the bill and the president have time to sign them for we can get our children something if u have to sent the checks out on express mail for we have plenty time to get it so please congrss pas the bill it’s is the time to give and not to take away so please pass the bill make GOD BLESS u

We are both low income eldery disabled seniors on ssi. We have yet to receive any senior stimulis, or cost of living (2years), .
The fat cats get the big bonus’s from our government. What gives?
It has been said that there will be only two classes instead of three.
They are already seperating the two,- the rich and the poor.
How sad- Obama lied to us. -
I think that its wrong of obama to make promises he can’t keep. Those of who voded was me for him but all i see is for the rich not for the poor another one that can’t help us but can help the rich when is it going to stop we need to vote for who is going to help us poor out.

I would like to no why the congress haven’t pass the bill for the $250.00 and i though that the President is over the congress and the senate but deep down in my heart that they will get a big fat raise and they talk about that we will spent money how can u spent money when u don’t have any and if we did we will try to pay our bills and buy food for our family. may GOD look down on each one of thm and MY GOD is not please and i no thier mother and father and family are not happy (oh i forget they family is going to get what they need ) why we are out here and loses our home,light getting cut off, our gas getting cut off and they don’t care when we was wroking and they took our money out for ss they was right . so why don’t u pass the bill for u can have a peace why u sleep at night and see want u feel better may GOD bless each one .

You can bet that if this money was for the those morons in DC it would be in their pockets already.!! They had no problem giving away billions and trillions to the Auto makers so they can continue to make cars for the average American cannot afford to buy them. No repercussions for the Big Exec’s who handed out bonuses with the money they received. Economics 101…..businesses supply goods and services…the people buy and use the goods and services. Well, that is when they have MONEY! It’s the people in this country that makes the economy work…….not the BIG Business. That “bailout” was a joke……see how it worked. Had they paid off mortgages or credit cards for the people who live and work here……..the economy would be up and running already.
