Stimulus Refund
August 2, 2010
Obama Stimulus Package: The Obama’s stimulus package proposes to reduce taxes of American taxpayers over 90 percent. This package gives a refundable tax credit of up to $800 for the American working families and around $400 for working taxpayers. This time, instead of giving stimulus refund check, the government has decided to reduce the amount of income tax that is withdrawn from the paychecks. Thus, the Americans are now able to take home a better paycheck. Actually, this tax deduction is meant to help Americans to deal with the recent economic crisis.
However, you are required to meet certain conditions to apply for stimulus refund. The main prerequisites are the following:
- You can get this benefit only if you are paying social security taxes. That means this deduction is applicable to only those who are employed or doing self-employed work.
- Your income should not go beyond $95,000 a year.
- If you and your spouse want to put forward a joint stimulus request, then both of your combined income should not exceed more than $190,000 in a year.
- If you are busy of doing two types of different jobs at a time, you cannot claim tax deduction on both paychecks. Inform one of your employers requesting him not to deduct your paycheck withholding.

Got something to say?

i am 52 yr old and it hard leave off of 673.00 amo and tryind pay and rent that i have to ask my kids to help me help i work aii my life until i came disadility i have lost my car, my house and it not get better it get hard for the poor people that say to say say sit and cry some so i felt the pain the poeple that only ss it a slap in the face.but who real care litttl poeple word dont mean a thing if u dont have money u just miss up so u lose
TO ANYONE WHO FEELS BROKE< NEGLECTED< REJECTED< USED OR ABUSED: TREATED UNFAIRLY AND UN-JUSTLY OR WHO IS JUST PLAIn BROKE; THANK YOU HARD WORKERS FOR ALL U DO!! I am very greatful for what little income I recieve; 600 dollars a month; My rent is 400 and my electric runs 150 to 200 dollars and I have nothing left to live on at times; so I rely on food pantry and God to help me; I have lost both of my parents, and I have been trying so hard to make ends meet, but there is a problem with all this "stimulus" stuff and taxes! It to me as a disabled person makes absolutly NO SENCE that the government would want to give something to us, then take it away! I thank ALL the hard working Americans for ALL the work they do, to help pay into the system and to pay for us; they never hear how good a job they do for us; HOWEVER, I am also upset that we didn't recieve a COLA or COST OF LIVING this year, even though rent went up!! Where is the Justice? Where is the middle ground? THOUSANDS of hard working people get no help, they have to struggle to keep what they have, MILLIONS of people that are diasbled can't live or survive because of the harsh INCREASE in one or two bills like Electricity and rent; then the Upper class poloticians with the nice suits, money makers who flaunt five to twenty cars and houses, and the ones who complain about a five dollars of gas per gallon for thieir hummers constantly whine about losing a ring off their pinky state they are broke! Let's figure this out shall we? Why not make it to where the "rich" (those that have more than one house and more than two cars and enough money spend on Material items help us other people out? Why can't the government take from the rich people like this and not abuse their money but invest it in needy people; those who can't afford rent, those who work 10 to 12 hr daily shifts for families of 5 or more; those who just can't cut the mustard cuz it costs an arm and a leg to spread it? Why does the Rich say they are poor? Have they EVER had to live without? NO!! I feel we all need to help each other; we all need to work as a UNITED STATES and unite with every state; finding a need and working on it! Want a solution, got a problem? Three ways; #1) Ask Yourself and God, what can I do, who can I help, what is the need? Then #2) Give to someone in need, tithe at your local church and pray for those who have nothing #3) Take what you do not use and give it away, what are you saving for anyways? All of this stuff fades, so what is the point of being tight fisted and greedy when others are dying? I hope someone hears this and can relate; WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER< so why not act like it? God bless you and may you have a great day!
dear mr obama i think that the people on ss sould receive a check for 250.00to help withcost of living .prices are going up bout ss is not and congress problay got a cost of living the last two years .and they problay make 6 fugure income so they dont care about the little people .like us nthat need help it sucks pouring 5 gal of fuel in tank to keep house warm ,its not easy .please help us if you can in anny way. thankyou. if you can
I am on disability and have a 13 yr. old son and a friend of mine told me those of us on S.S. and or disability were going to get a $250 stimulus check and if I am reading this right, the only ones eligable are the ones who have jobs and I really don’t think that’s fair or right!? I make less then $1000 a month because I have to pay $100 for my medicare and wont even have money after paying bills to get my son something nice! I’d just like to know when the government is going to start thinking about the little/poor people rather than all these banks, factorys ect. who are bank rolling!? I have a hard time even geting Medicaid for my son who broke his two front teeth off when he hit the bottom of the swimming pool! I have also been on the waiting list for hud for nearly 4 years now, checked in with them a few months ago and was told I was still in the middle, near the bottom of the list!
I just don’t understand why the people who really don’t need as much help, get help first and those of us struggling day to day are shouved to th side and forgotten about!? Laurie
When in fact is theses stimulus checks are going out or if and fact what date
Does this mean that you will take less money out of my paycheck so that I will have more money NOW but that the actual amount of tax owed at the end of the year the same or more as last year? If so, this means that I will owe MORE money at the end of the year and since times are so bad right now that will be worse on me THEN. RIGHT? Please, let me know!!
ya know. i didn’t understand this. when this was implemented last year, i didn’t know i was supposed to have MORE withheld from my paychecks. so, when i went to file my taxes for last year, i was slapped w/ a 700$ fine. had it not been for the 800$ my wife& i received. we would’ve been in DEEP DEEP trouble. so, the next work day, i went & immediately increased what was being withheld every paycheck. i really hope that doesn’t happen to me again. i’m all for having a bigger paycheck, but not if i can’t counter balance it with the 800$. i know this doesn’t make much sense, but as a normal person that doesn’t understand this stuff 100%, i was quite shocked when it came time to file my taxes earlier this year.
