Federal Tax Cuts to Create Green Energy

December 31, 2009

The government of Barack Obama is aiming at new plans, new development and new policies. In this effort, the new president already introduced stimulus packages, reformation of health care and now with a plan to give federal tax cuts to those who are saving energy systems and protecting environment from carbon emissions. In the recent years CO2 emissions into the air have become an issue and there are fears in the coming years, there would not be fresh air to breath for people and almost everyone may have to wear an oxygen mask.

Instead of fuel, using green energy sources such as bio-gas fuel, renewable electricity, geothermal, biomass and hydrogen cars are some of the latest alternatives developed that will help and prevent the increase of pollution in the atmosphere. In order to encourage more and more industries and organizations for using green energy, Obama introduced Federal Tax cuts and these tax cuts encourage many industries to take benefit.

The tax credits are available through Treasury Department which are extended to the owners of renewable energy production units in the areas of electricity, biomass, geothermal, natural gas and hydrogen gas. The tax cuts would be in effect up to December 31, 2013. There is every guideline and information about federal tax cuts on the web site of U.S treasury department. Further for wind generation credit, businesses can claim up to 30 percent tax credit as they work on wind generation and energy property investments. There is also assistance and support by the Treasury Department for those who are entering into collaboration with Department of Energy and there will be substantial tax credits depending on the type of collaboration that is being ventured and nearly there are 10 to 30 percent of the cost of construction that is awarded by the Treasury Department. Applications can be submitted up to December 2011 for gaining tax credit in this development of green energy sources.

Another benefit for employers is that tax benefits up to $ 230 are provided to employees in parking and transit. For residential property credits, homeowners can receive nearly 30 percent credit for solar water heaters, 30 percent credit for heat pumps geothermal, and 30 percent credit for qualified small wind energy generation. For plug-in cars and battery driven cars, tax payers can save up to $ 2500 and manufacturers are reporting more sales that touch nearly 200,000 cars every quarter.

In this manner, one step ahead in saving the natural resources and protecting the atmosphere from pollution, U.S will definitely be achieving in running automobiles, industries and transportation with green energy sources which will prove very beneficial for the entire country. Further to boost the usage of green energy, Obama has already sanctioned tax credits which will work to the benefit and advantage of industrial owners and individual homeowners. This will surely be of great interest to the common people as they are receiving easy fuel and would be saving lot of money by spending less on payment of bills on a regular basis.
